“This was the perfect place to camp with my kids. I was after a place that would be quiet, that had a bush setting but also toilet and showers. Great farm with sheep, geese and Bonnie the dog. There’s even a lamb called skittles that thinks it’s a dog. The stream nearby put us to sleep with its constant white noise. The hosts were friendly too. Would definitely come back again if time permitted.”

“What an incredibly special place. So peaceful and quiet. The bird life was spectacular and the sound of the river rustling by and the views was awesome. Bob was a most gracious host and we thoroughly enjoyed the company of Skittles the little lamb and playtime with Bonnie the Border Collie. If you want to just escape life! This is the perfect place to do so!”

“We had a perfect getaway trip here and loved the idyllic camping site. The weather was a bit wet when we stay but we still enjoyed the quiet and peaceful surroundings, the lovely farm animals, and the warm camp fire with plenty of firewoods. The bathroom was tidy and clean, the hot water shower was really hot and none stopping, the beautiful hostess was super kind and friendly, feeding the cute little lamb Skito was absolutely a bonus for the kids. There were plenty of nice places to go within an hour’s drive, we were all glad that we booked this place instead of the crowded Wilson park camp site.”

“Incredibly beautiful spot, with chickens, geese, a lamb to bottle feed and Bonnie the dog to throw sticks to. The outdoor table in the morning sun was a wonderful place to have a coffee.”

“If you want to escape the bustling city and just relax and rejuvenate, the Walden cottage is perfect for you! You will be surrounded by geese, cows and sheep as well as rivers and mountains. Such a wonderful place to spend days exploring or admiring the mist rising while sipping your cuppa. We specifically enjoy taking our breakfast in the warmth of the cottage while watching the ducks landing in the pond.”

“We had a wonderful time at Walden Cottage. The cottage was comfortable with everything you need, and the most beautiful outlook onto the lake. Fruit trees laden with fruit to pick! The kids loved all the animals, especially Bonnie the dog. Bob was a great host. Lovely property. The perfect family getaway.”

“Utterly idyllic property with a host who effortlessly manages being disarmingly friendly, welcoming and yet in no way intrusive. The cabin is charming and we loved lolling about on the sheepskin covered lounge, playing fetch with Bonnie the border collie, picking and eating satsuma plums straight off the tree and visiting nearby waterfalls and rainforests. Wonderful place.”

“Wow! We loved camping on Bob’s land. It is a very special place, paradise. It was so lush and green, the views were amazing. The cows nearby were lovely, the kids loved watching them. Bonnie the dog was very entertaining and extremely well behaved, great with kids. The facilities were really good and being a large group we really appreciated the extra toilet.”

“If you like the country you’ll love this little oasis tucked away in a valley.”

“This is a peaceful farm setting, perfect for anyone who wants to relax and get away from it all. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay of two nights and wished we had longer! We decided to self cater, rather than eat out, buying some tasty meat and produce from Bob’s farm. The cottage is equipped to prepare and enjoy meals if you choose to dine in, but Yarram, Port Albert and plenty of other destinations are not too far off if you wish to dine out. Our kids loved the free-range chickens wandering about the garden and got to feed them one morning. Digger the farm dog – who is obsessed with fetch- became their new best friend. Bob was very helpful and hospitable – and we were treated to fresh scones on our last morning, which was a lovely way to end our stay, sitting at the picnic table out the front. A beautiful spot with plenty of space to wander and explore.”

“We had a very relaxed and enjoyable weekend. Bob and Cecilia are two lovely people. You can have as much or as little interaction with them. Digger is the perfect entertainer and we fell in love with him. The chooks roaming the yard were a big treat. Thanks Bob and Cecilia, we are now even more determined to make our dream of owning our own Garden Farm come to life. We will be back in summer to experience a different setting.”

“We stayed three nights in the little cottage. It was a lovely quiet weekend in the country: exploring the local area by day, and relaxing by watching a DVD from the collection at the cottage by night. Bob was a wonderful host and we enjoyed his hospitality very much.”
Sarah, Airbnb, April 2019
“What an amazing stay! Exceeded all our expectations. Bob is a great host who has created this one if a kind farm experience. The whole place (flora and fauna) seemed in complete harmony with everything. Bob “home delivered” some amazing dessert for us to try as well. We also had a great time with his adorable Border Collie “Digger”. This is a perfect place for families and couples alike. Thanks Bob for arranging such a close and lovely encounter with nature for us!”
Anshul, Airbnb, March 2019
“Bob’s place is pretty magic – an enchanted food forest set within a valley! Great for kids and the child within to expore, connect with nature, listen to the birds and let it all settle. Bob’s a lovely, gentle, helpful and responsive host. The place has everything you need and nothing you don’t. Thank you for making the world better Bob!”
Heather, Airbnb, January 2019
“Wow! What a wonderful experience we’ve had! Bob was lovely and warm welcoming to his beautiful farm and was patient and kind with our two high energy little boys. This was our first family holiday since our 2 year old completed our family and it far exceeded expectations. The boys had a blast and expelled plenty of energy running around and exploring Bob’s place. It was wonderful to watch them having such an amazing experience in such a beautiful setting. Would highly recommend to other families wanting to get away and just enjoy the beauty this world has to offer!”

“We loved our stay at Bob’s farm. Bob was there to greet us when we arrived & he was friendly, accommodating and patient with my enthusiastic children right throughout the weekend. The kids loved helping to feed the hens & collect the eggs, and Digger the border collie was a constant companion. They also loved playing in the creek, and jumping on the trampoline. The cottage was basic but comfortable and had everything we needed. The country side is beautiful & serene. We bought some fresh organic veggies from Bob which were delicious & hubby enjoyed Bob’s meat pies. Bob piled us up with apples from the tree for the drive home. Thankyou Bob for your hospitality and generosity, we will definitely be recommending to all our friends.”

“Beautiful location for staying – camping or staying in the cabins. We camped with our family of 5 (3 young kids) and they loved it. We would have breakfast in the morning & the kids will disappear for the rest of the day to help Bob with feeding chickens, collecting eggs, etc. Highly recommended!”
